[Home] [Economic Self] [Rock n' Roll Self] [Photos] [Links]

Welcome! My real name is Mark Andrew Maria Bonardelli. I am an economist specializing in macroeconomics and energy issues. I have my Master’s from the University of Ottawa, which is located in Ontario. However, I am a Quebecker, a Montréal native.

Presently, I am working in Springfield, Illinois, the state capital, by the way, with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. However, I am trying to change that fact. So as you peruse the site to learn more about my economic self, keep in mind I am looking, so I appreciate any leads.

I was born in Montréal and grew up in the anglophone school system. My cultural background is quite diversified. As you can tell by the name, I have Italian roots. I also have French Canadian and Peruvian roots. How is that for a mix? I mention these facts because I am seeking a position in an international arena. I am actively seeking to relocate back to the east, but I am also searching for a position in Europe, especially in Switzerland or France.

My interests in the field of economics include country analysis where I would use my analytical abilities to determine how world or national economic trends impact on company operations or how company sales are affected by the demographics of the region.

I also work with economic models, like the REMI model, which is a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model. With REMI, I do impact analysis related to economic development issues and also forecasting of national and sub-national areas. Since I have worked in energy and utility analysis, the model has been used to see the impacts on the economy of various carbon or BTU tax impositions along with electric rate changes.

Regarding the energy field, I have been in charge of monitoring energy markets, like coal, petroleum, natural gas, and electricity, and see how they may affect the nation and especially the state economy. I am in charge of energy data, its collection and dissemination to interested parties and the public.
